Dental Clinic for Patients With Special Needs and Soldiers With PTSD
The only of its kind in Northern Israel, this Dental Clinic specializes in treating both adult and pediatric patients with special needs who cannot receive treatment in standard dental clinics, nor afford the cost.
SPECIALIZED DENTAL CARE
Patients with special needs require special treatment
This includes difficulties cooperating with an in-mouth procedure and therefore requires general anesthesia to be treated.
The clinic treats patients with varying degrees of needs, including those with mental disabilities, cerebral palsy, autism, and those who express and experience dental anxiety.
DIVERSIFIED DENTAL TEAM
Treating issues beyond the ‘norm’
Fractures in the skeleton of the facial bones and jaws may occur following a single injury to the facial area or as part of an extensive multisystem injury. A significant number of the victims are involved in road accidents. A large number may have been injured in an accidental fall at home or on the street, and some of the injuries are caused by physical or domestic violence. A minority of injuries are the result of work accidents, sports accidents and gunshot wounds.
Fractures in the facial bones, if not treated correctly, may cause irreversible aesthetic damage affecting appearance of the face and functional disturbances in the jaws and teeth system. The treatment includes stabilization and fixation of the fractures, fixation of teeth and repair of the soft tissue.
SPECIALIZED CARE FOR SOLDIERS
The Dental Clinic also treats soldiers with PTSD
IDF soldiers, who suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), some of whom may be former prisoners of war. require specialized dental care and medical expertise.
PTSD can make it challenging for them to receive regular dental care due to heightened anxiety and fear associated with dental visits. Specialized dental care for soldiers with PTSD is crucial to ensure that they receive the treatment they need in a safe and supportive environment.
The Dental Clinic at Bnai Zion helps ensure that these brave soldiers receive oral health care while also addressing their unique emotional and psychological challenges.
