Dr. Ohad Hochman

CEO of Bnai Zion Medical Center

Dr. Ohad Hochman was born in 1970 in Haifa. He is married to Hadas and they are proud parents to three boys.

Dr. Hochman is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem and holds a MHA (Cum Laude) from the Faculty of Management, Ben-Gurion University (of the Negev). He is a specialist in family medicine and health administration.

Ohad served as a military physician and concluded his service as the Chief Medical Officer, Lieutenant colonel in the Israeli Navy, IDF.

Following his military service Dr. Hochman has served as Deputy CEO at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera for eight years. In 2019 he was elected as the CEO of the Bnai Zion Medical Center in Haifa.

He is a clinical assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the Technion, Israel’s Institute of Technology. His research interests are: health quality, medical applications of Artificial Intelligence and medical management and administration.

Among Dr. Hochman’s public professional activities is being an initiator and leader in the application field of BIG DATA in hospitals. Recently, he was appointed by the deputy Director of the Israeli Ministry of Health to lead Kinneret, an innovative and new project that aims to establish a collaborative research cloud to all Israeli governmental hospitals. Its goal is to share all data that is collected in the hospitals on one cloud to allow the medical staff to use Artificial Intelligence to develop research and Entrepreneurship

In addition, Ohad is a founder and head of a Forum for Cooperation with leading nursing institutes and institutes for people with disabilities from the city of Haifa and Northern Israel. His goal is to learn from firsthand how the hospital can improve and adjust its activities to provide the best care (not only the medical treatment but also the communication with the staff, arrangements etc).

Dr. Hochman’s vision for the Bnai Zion Medical Center includes being a Medical Center that stands at the forefront of technology. A hospital that takes an active role in the local community of Haifa and works in close collaboration with the Israeli health system and a hospital that constitutes as the first choice for the patients and staff.
